It is with deep regret that Perkiomen Township Fire Company reports the passing of Past Fire Chief, William Patterson, Jr. on January 22, 2026.

Chief Patterson served as a dedicated volunteer with the Fire Company for more than 60 years in both operational and administrative capacities. Just prior to his passing, Chief Patterson began his 50th consecutive year as Company Treasurer.

Chief Patterson was also a fixture with Perkiomen Township, previously serving as Township Supervisor, Fire Marshal, and most recently, Emergency Management Coordinator.

Chief Patterson also served as a Coordinator for the Montgomery County Tanker Task Force and was well known be his calm voice for many years on the other end of the radio as Montgomery County Dispatcher 031.

The rescheduled Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Station 66 at 485 Gravel Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426.

Visitation will take place from Noon to 1:45 PM, with the Memorial Service beginning shortly afterward.

A meaningful fire apparatus procession will follow the service, giving Chief Patterson his “Last Ride.”
